Electronic Bunko

Posted by: AgendasSOS   in Scams, Internet

Heard about Electronic Bunko? Electronic Bunko is quite simple and you must have come across it several times if you have been in the internet for quite a while. You get an email that states that he/she was given your name as someone that can be trusted. he/She is either a member of a royal family of some country, or a person in high authority of some institution. He says that someone, usually a deposed ruler has money in off shore banks. The amount is usually stated as something like $20,000,000 or so. Big enough, huh?

Now, he has a big problem! He is being watched and can’t withdraw the money. But since your name was given to him as an honest person, if you withdraw the funds, you either get to keep 1/2 of the amount or so. As the scheme progresses and you have done some tits and bits, they will need some sort of good faith money but they tell you not to worry because they will hold it for you!!!

I wonder how any person can fall for such bull? Apparently this scam must work because they send out millions of these emails and I am sure that they wouldn’t waste their time if some people weren’t biting? I get hundreds of such emails every month collectively in my bulk mail box of the couple of emails addresses I have been using. There are lot many other similar scams and I wonder if anyone who is reading this post has fallen for them!
