How is a blog different from a Website? Well, a blog has the feature which allows you to add your articles in a much easier way than it is when you have a normal website. A blog is also a website, but it is fully made out of a content management system usually called a blogging script or a blogging platform. In the words of Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Well, there are millions of blogs on the internet today. Like humordiva.com, a blog which was about to be of some funny things but which has everything but funny things!, ballyaracs.com, a blog about rambling from Ballyara and mibalonthai.com, the Thai Wai Blog, which is not at all a Thai Blog, are some examples of blogs on the internet. All of these three blogs are using wordpress as their blogging software but there are also many other blogging software available out there other than wordpress.
Seems like comment spam has got a season too. Just a month or so back I use get a lot of comment spam. These spam ranges from unwanted advertisements to hopeless long article on some product. I tried so hard to get rid of these spam comments by using many anti-spam plugins but I could not a very effective solution.
But now, things seem to have changes a bit. I am not getting much comment spam now-a-days. Though I have installed a combination of a couple of Wordpress Anti-spam plugins, but I still don’t know the exact reason. So, seems like Spam has got a season and now the season is over. I am quite relief and I hope I will not get comment spams now. But who knows, the spam season will come again. So, be prepared, because spam will never stop; we need to fight them.
I installed the Bad Behavior plugin in my blog to stop spam comments and it was working great till recently when it started creating a lot of problems. A few days back, there were only a couple of problems but now, I am seeing the error many times so I thought I should address this issue.
Well, when I tried to edit any setting, a message would pop up saying that my IP is no more allowed to edit anything on the website and I should contact the webmaster if the problem persists. Well, I am the webmaster in this case and whom should I contact? Anyway, I tried disabling the plugin and the whole thing would work fine. When I re-enabled the plugin, it won’t show the error for some time but the error will suddenly re-appear when I tried to make a post or moderate my comments.
I am not yet able to find any proper answer for the problem but I hope some other people also must have faced similar problem. I would like to hear from them if in case they happen to land on this page. It would be really helpful if anyone can provide me a clue on how to completely stop this kind of error.
I was writing about PayPerPost receiving $7 Million in funding from its investors in one of my previous post. Well, as a celebration for this great achievement, PayPerPost, the largest Blog Advertising Marketplace, released a series its Lucky 7 Opportunities in the PPP marketplace, starting last Tuesday. They will be releasing opps tagged with $10.77, $70 and $700. Yes, you read right, that’s $700 for a 300 word article on your blog!
Now, by that time I am writing this, PPP has already released three of these $700 opps and I missed all three right through my eyes! I saw them, but by the time I went to take them, they were all gone. But the most interesting thing that happened this morning was that, everyone started waiting for the $700 opp, which was supposed to be dropped between 9am to noon EST. It seemed like thousands of bloggers started refreshing their dashboard every few seconds and the server began to show many kinds errors (for which ofcourse Dan is responsible!).
Anyway, I feel so bad I missed all three of the greatest opps I ever qualified for. But there are still 5 more days till next tuesday and I still have a good chance to grab the “You Lucky Duck” offer. Ofcourse I am damn sure I will be the next lucky duck!
I just read in a local newspaper about this title - “New kids on Blog”! Well, blogging is becoming more and more popular and someone at last wrote about it in our local newspaper. It may be hard to believe but if I say blogging to my friends, they will all ask me what actually a kind of game is that! he thing is that people here not much aware of the internet and if at all they know about internet, it is the email and google and exam results.
I have a few friends who are surprised, rather not believe me when I told them that I am earning from Blogging. When they asked me what is blogging actually, I tried to define it but at last I have to conclude saying it’s a kind of article writing stuff. They could hardly believe anyone earning from the Internet and they think it could mostly end up falling into yet another internet scam, where you are asked to do something like reading mails and taking surveys for which you never get paid actually!
Anyway, the scenario is changing and I really like the new development. Blogging is in fact becoming one of the hottest topic to the internet newbie. I would like to help every new blogger and I am ready to guide them. But they should be willing to lean and explore new things. Happy Blogging once again!
The last time I made a post was on 31st May. After that I could not make any post because I had to go out of the town on some training thingy. I was almost cut off from internet and blogging and I was feeling quite desperate to write a blog post! I was also working on some video project but I could not complete it. I hope to re-start the complete job soon as I get some free time out of college.
Anyway, I will start blogging with a faster pace from today and hope I won’t have to take a break from Blogging anymore. I do have some schedules in the coming weeks but I will take my laptop with me and get a mobile internet connection as well to access by blogs and websites from anywhere.
Hope to get to work now. Cheers to Blogging!
I was browsing through a forum and I found a great site where you can find free available domain names with PR. The guy is a domain name expert and he gives a list of all the domain with a valid PR. He also updates his list quite often, sometimes even 3-4 times a day. So, you can find many nice domains there.
The site is called mywordismybond.com and you can find list of available domains at this page. He checks each domain for valid PR and only when the PR is valid, he displays them on his site. You can find many PR3 or less domains but if you are lucky you can even get PR4 or PR5 domains for sale at very low prices.
But I would like to mention one important thing about creating website on expired domains with PR that it is not advisable because Google don’t like expired domains and you may lose the PR of the domain in the next update. If you are really serious about creating a good website, always start from a new domain and get some backlinks from other blogs and sites. Getting a PR in 3 months is not that hard because I have many websites which become PR4 from PR0 just in a matter of a few months. So, the choice is yours, but I hope this information was of some help.
I got this news that PayPerPost, the biggest Blog Advertising service where bloggers can make money blogging, has just launched one of its greatest feature - the PayPerPost Direct. PPP Direct is a feature that will enable Advertisers to directly deal with the bloggers for advertising in their blogs. What you need to just place a PPP Direct Widget into your weblog displaying the minimum price you want to get paid for a post in your blog and advertiser will find you through the PPP marketplace and if they like your blog, they can directly initiate a deal with you for a post on your blog.
