How is a blog different from a Website? Well, a blog has the feature which allows you to add your articles in a much easier way than it is when you have a normal website. A blog is also a website, but it is fully made out of a content management system usually called a blogging script or a blogging platform. In the words of Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Well, there are millions of blogs on the internet today. Like humordiva.com, a blog which was about to be of some funny things but which has everything but funny things!, ballyaracs.com, a blog about rambling from Ballyara and mibalonthai.com, the Thai Wai Blog, which is not at all a Thai Blog, are some examples of blogs on the internet. All of these three blogs are using wordpress as their blogging software but there are also many other blogging software available out there other than wordpress.
While buying a new PC, many people get confused whether to choose a Laptop or a Desktop, specially when the price difference between the two has become negligible. I have seen many people asking in online computer discussion forums which one they should buy with topics like “Laptop or Desktop?”, “Should I buy a Laptop or a Desktop”, “Are Laptops better?”, and so on.
Well, if I was to give some advice, then it all depends on how you are going to use your new PC and your budget. The budget because, even though you can find a laptops at the price of the desktop, you won’t find much features in them. Say for instance, if a Desktop PC with 120 GB storage and 2GB RAM plus all multimedia accessories comes under your current budget, you may only get a Laptop with 80GB Storage and 512MB of RAM with the same budget. So, budget still forms an important factor.
But the main thing to consider is the usage that you are going to put your PC to. You can run certain software applications like Heavy Games or Video Editing applications efficiently with a 512MB of RAM. Some of the Games these days eat up huge amount of system resource and may require you to have huge RAM and Multimedia Card. If you are planning to play such games or use such applications, then better go for a Desktop Computer. And above that, you can get that much enjoyment when you play big games on a small Laptop. But if you want your PC for just internet surfing or simple home and office applications, then it is best to go for a Laptop because of its portability. So, the choice is yours.
This is a hot topic and we were even asked to discuss on this topic in one of the interviews I sat a few days back. Well, I think half of the country’s population supports reservation of seats while the rest don’t. I just wanted to give my view on it because I don’t fully agree with either of the two groups.
What I feel is that, Reservation is necessary to bring the backward groups of people at par with the rest of the society and that is a very important factor which will help in Country’s progress. We cannot develop part by part, we have to develop together and only when all portion of the country is developed, we will be called a developed country.
Having said that, I don’t fully agree with the idea of implementation this on every aspect of our life. There are certain cases where I don’t think seats should be reserved based on any category of people. Like in the medical profession. It is ok to have the reservations on selection of undergraduate medical courses, but once they went through the courses, I don’t think hey should again be given more chances when it comes to selecting doctors for the hospitals. That will simply downgrade the whole system and lead to more destruction than better. So, I hope the government should consider this point seriously. I am on neither sides, but do feel there is need of some modification in the Reservation Policy of our Government.
Trend studies have shown that two out of every seven people in the world will have a personal computer by 2015. This will account to more than 2 billion personal computers being used around the Globe. Among the countries, India, China, Russia and Brazil are emerging as the faster growing personal computer markets in the world.
According to Forrester, a global research firm, there are two main reasons for such a fast growth of PC market. One is the decrease in the price of Personal Computers and the second reason being that people are increasingly becoming more and more technology conscious. They also added that there will be more than 1 billion PC in used by the end of 2008, while the rapid growth of the PC market worldwide will take the number to another billion by the end of 2015, making an overall 2 billion figure!
The fours rapidly emerging countries, India, China, Russia and Brazil will account for nearly 775 million new PCs by 2015. At present India has over 22 million Personal computers, that is about 1 PC for every 50 people across the country.
I have been trying to create a publication and I have run through many publishing tips that I want to share with my readers. Well, the first thing is to know why you are writing the book. Are you writing for memories or are you writing about some great information that people will run after. Is your intention to grab a bestseller title? So, make a goal because all you will need to write according to that.
Next tip is treat book or ebook publishing as a business and think yourself like a professional. You are not just a writer but a publisher who aim in writing profitable books. Next, know your audience and write a business plan. This is crucial, because unless you know whom you are targeting, you will be able to deliver what he readers want. Write about subjects that you know best because unless you something very well, you will not be able to effectively deliver useful information to your readers.
Last, but not the least, you need to plan for the marketing of the book. Whether it be online or offline, you will need to market the book and you need a market strategy for that. You can have the best book in the world, but if no one knows about it, no one will buy it. You main target should be to sell the books, not just publish them.
Hope this post was of some help to the newbie. Some more post on similar topics in line. So, get back here often!
With the most recent earthquakes striking Taiwan this week, China has come up with a new natural solution to predict earth quakes. They are going to use snakes to predict earthquakes.
“Of all the creatures on Earth, snakes are perhaps the most sensitive to earthquakesâ€, Jiang Weisong, Director of EarthQuake Bureau in Nanning (Capital of Guangxi autonomous region in Southern China) was quoted as saying. He said that snakes, a popular restaurant dish in the south in winter, could sense an earthquake from 120 km (70 miles) away and three to five days in advance, before it happens.
After thoroughly monitoring the behaviour of snakes at local snake farms via video cameras that runs all 24 hours a day, the Bereau has concluded that snakes indeed behave strangely when an earth is about to occur. “Snakes will move out of their nests, even in the cold of the winter when they felt an earthquake is about to occurâ€, Jiang says, “If the earthquake is a big one, the snakes will even smash into walls while trying to escapeâ€.
Being stressed is not part of a healthy lifestyle. Not only is stress damaging to us physically, it can also cause us to eat more and exercise less. Stress can be a huge obstacle that gets in the way of our healthy lifestyle goals. What can you do to effectively manage your stress? The following six steps will help you to make changes to have less stress and more happiness in your life.
Learn to understand what situations; events, circumstances and people cause you to feel negative stress. Think about what message your brain is telling you about why you feel stressed. Notice the physical reactions you have, a racing heart, and shortness of breath, tight muscles or feeling angry and upset. Is there a way you can set up a structure to reduce or eliminate the stress by being more organised or managing you time better. Can you avoid or eliminate any of the things that cause you negative stress? Can you reduce your exposure to stress by taking a break away from the situation?
Different things cause different people stress. You may find public speaking extremely stressful but others thrive on this type of challenge. Having too many deadlines may leave you tearing your hair out but may make someone else feel completely organised and less stressed. We feel stressed because of how we personally perceive the situation. Are you stressed because you view things are critical or urgent when that may not be the case? Are you feeling pressure because you are a perfectionist? Try and be more moderate in your view and put the situation into perspective. Get someone else’s perspective on the situation and compare with your own. Are you being over dramatic?
Learn relaxation and deep breathing techniques that will slow down your racing heart, improve your breathing and relax those tense muscles. Learn to smile and laugh more. It’s hard to be angry and stressed while you’re laughing. Don’t live up to other expectations, as these will not be in alignment with your own needs and values. Hang around upbuilding and supportive friends or co-workers. Find someone to share your concerns with. Also learn to ask for and accept help. And be Happy all the Time!
People say that learning from our own mistakes is the best form of learning. Because you can hardly forget your hard time you had when you made those mistakes. Something like that just happened to me a few days ago and of course I have learned a lesson.
After much energy spent on so many ebooks and guides on making money, I decided that I should start up affiliate marketing now. Many people are earning quite a good living out of it. A few of my friends who started out on the internet earning ventures are earning quite well from some internet affiliate programs. But I could hardly get enough time out of college and start concentrating on any big program.
Anyway, at last I decided and signed up for an affiliate marketing account. I don’t want to disclose what exactly the affiliate product was but it was having quite good demand in the market and one of my friend was getting lot of sales. Since I don’t have much time to generate traffic of my own, I invested $150 for some targeted traffic and I got back my $150 in two days. I was getting lot of quality traffic and I was really enjoying the kind of progress I was making in that front.
But a few days later, on the day of payout, eager to check my account, I tried to sign in but an error message pop up saying my account has been disabled. I tried sending a lot of emails to their customer care and at last got one reply saying that my Country was not allowed to join the program and he pointed a link to their Terms of Service. Well, I of course missed to read the TOS and that was my mistake.
So, first tip from this mistake: Always read the Terms before signing for any Program in the internet, especially when you are expecting something good!
